To the readers of The Iowa Standard:
Christmas came early! We are excited to announce today (Thursday, Dec. 16) that we have “The Iowa Standard” app available on both the App Store and Google Play! This is a major step forward for the website and for honest Iowa political news!
For the calendar year 2021, The Iowa Standard website has received more than 7 million page views. Our Facebook page eclipsed 25,000 followers. Everything is trending in the right direction!
The addition of the app will ensure continued growth in the foreseeable future. While our Facebook following is substantial, there are days when Facebook certainly limits who sees our posts — even among our followers.
The app will be a tool that overcomes that!
“Those who download our app will be able to receive a notification every time we post a new story,” said Jacob Hall, owner of The Iowa Standard. “While we believe it is important conservatives maintain a presence on social media — even on Facebook — we also know it is imperative that we find ‘other’ ways to reach people. The app is our most powerful tool yet to make sure our readers continue to see our stories!”
While the app is in its beginning stages, expect changes to come over time.
“We wanted to have something out there for our readers by the end of the year and we wanted it to be something simple and that our readers could count on,” Hall said. “Over time we will adjust it and tweak it. Hopefully, our readers will provide feedback and other ideas they have.
“The app opens up another avenue to advertisers and business owners across Iowa who want to reach our readership. It is a huge step forward in The Iowa Standard’s continued development.”
