Many of the prophets within the Christian church have prophesied that President Donald J. Trump will have two consecutive terms in office. So far it doesn’t look good.
In the Bible, we see many stories of God’s intervention for His people. One thing that becomes clear as we read the story of Gideon in the Book of Judges or of the Israelites fleeing from slavery in Egypt or the famous story of David and Goliath there is one thing that is clear…God does not like to win a fair fight.
God likes to win battles that are impossible. He likes to have the odds stacked against Him where His enemies feel free to scoff at Him and His people.
I pray the prophets are right.
The United States was established as One Nation Under God. President George Washington prayed for our nation with these words, “Almighty GOD; we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection, that thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States of America at large. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of The Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech thee, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen”
The United States has been blessed because we have been a nation under God for so long. We have allowed that designation to erode. We must once again preach the FULL Gospel of Christ. He has come to take away our worries and our fears. He has come to heal us and take away our sins. He loves absolutely everyone all the time because He IS Love. We only need to accept Him as Lord and have faith in His Word. In John 10:27 Jesus says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
Let’s keep America great by letting our light shine before all the people of the world. Elect leaders that don’t just say they are Christians. Elect leaders that walk in the fruit of the Spirit which is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 22-23)
