White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki released a statement on Tuesday stating she took a PCR test on Tuesday morning and the results came back positive. She will not travel to Europe for President Joe Biden’s trip and will be adhering to CDC guidance.

Psaki had two socially distanced meetings with Biden on Monday. Biden is not considered a close contact as defined by the CDC guidance. Psaki said she is sharing her positive result out of an “abundance of transparency.”

Biden tested negative on Tuesday.

“Thanks to the vaccine, I have only experienced mild symptoms,” Psaki said. “In alignment with White House COVID-19 protocols, I will work from home and plan to return to work in person at the conclusion of a five-day isolation period and a negative test.”
