Congresswoman Ashley Hinson (IA-01) released the following video statement on reports that the Biden Administration is considering pulling medical personnel from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to assist at the Southern Border after lifting Title 42.

“I wanted to talk to you about something serious that we have heard surfacing out here in Washington, DC. I am absolutely horrified by reports that the Administration is considering pulling medical personnel from the Department of Veterans Affairs and bringing them to the Southern Border.
“So, you would ask the question: why are they doing this? Well, it is because they know that reversing Title 42 will incentivize hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to make the dangerous trek across our southern border and then, many will need medical attention when they get to our country.
“Meanwhile, there are veterans in Iowa who are struggling to get care at our local VAs and they are calling my office for help. So, if this is true–what a slap in the face to those who have served our country and deserve access to those benefits and the best care. President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas have some serious questions to answer here.”
