Voters want new option in 2024, Rasmussen poll shows Biden, Kamala and Trump about equal in popularity

A Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey released last week shows that just 33 percent of likely voters think President Joe Biden should seek re-election. Fifty-five percent said Biden should not seek a second term.

Worse yet for the current administration, if Biden decides against a re-election bid, just 32 percent believe Vice President Kamala Harris should seek the nomination. Fifty-eight percent said she should not.

President Donald J. Trump is just slightly more popular, with 35 percent saying he should seek another term. Fifty-three percent do not want Trump to run again in 2024.

Just 26 percent of unaffiliated voters said Biden should run for re-election. Sixty-two percent of unaffiliated voters said he should not.

Just 51 percent of Republicans said Trump should run for President. Twenty-nine percent of unaffiliated voters agree. Fifty-three percent of unaffiliated voters said Trump should not run. Thirty-seven percent of Republicans also do not think Trump should run again.
