While President Trump and his Administration continue to prioritize the fight against COVID-19 and provide support for American families, Joe Biden spends his time spreading baseless claims.
Right on the heels of the all-time high jobs report – which announced an increase of 4.8 million American jobs in June – Biden attacked the President for his lack of leadership and support for Americans. Since the coronavirus was declared a National Emergency, President Trump has signed the largest emergency aid package in U.S. history, significantly increased testing efforts with over 35 million administered as of July 2, invoked the Defense Protection Act to help companies secure the supplies they need to produce ventilators, delivered millions of personal protection equipment, and saved American lives.
Biden’s accusation that President Trump hasn’t done anything for working Americans was so egregious, even his allies in the liberal media admit it is false. The $2 trillion CARES Act provided direct financial assistance to Americans who earn up to $150,000, as well as forgivable loans to small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) if at least 75 percent of the money goes toward payroll expenses. Recent data has found that the PPP is supporting more than 51 million jobs and over 80 percent of all small business employees in the United States.
Bottom Line: While the Obama Administration – and Joe Biden – cut funding and resources for pandemic response, President Trump has prioritized the American people, prevailed in widespread testing, and saved lives.
