On Friday, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed Senate File 99 into law, banning the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries on minors for the purposes of attempting to alter their sex. Wyoming is now the 23rd state to restrict these practices in some capacity.

In response, Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project (APP), released the following statement applauding the new law:

“The transgender industry’s house of cards is beginning to collapse. In just the last few weeks, we’ve seen England’s national health service ban the use of puberty blockers on children. We’ve seen leaks exposing the flagship group pushing sex changes for minors—the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH)—as a sham medical organization. And we’re now seeing more states here in the U.S. continue to press forward in protecting kids.

“Children confused about their gender need and deserve the best mental healthcare that we can provide them. They do not need or deserve to be encouraged down a medical pathway that destroys their young bodies before they’ve even had a chance to mature into adulthood. We thank Wyoming lawmakers for joining with the growing coalition of states working to put an end to the predatory transgender industry before it can harm any more kids.”
