Last week’s Trump/Biden debate was the most significant media event ever. It laid bare the latest lie, that President Joe Biden is fit to be president of this great nation. Once and for all, Americans who have been spoon-fed biased media news could see with their own eyes how they have been misled on the state of Mr. Biden’s mental acuity.
Just a few months ago, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, mocked voters who questioned the media’s pro-Biden spin:
“… start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth. And F— you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I have known him for years. The Brzezinskis have known him for 50 years. If it weren’t the truth I wouldn’t say it.”
But it’s not the truth, he knew it wasn’t the truth, and he said it anyway.
A list of lies
Thursday’s debate exposed the latest lie. There have been so many, it’s hard to even list them all. But it’s important to do so, because the media will continue doing so until the public says “I’ve had enough, and I’m not going to take it anymore.” Here’s a very small list:
- Robert Hur was a partisan “hack” for claiming our President is a forgetful old man who couldn’t be convicted of his crimes because a jury would feel sorry for him. No one questions Hur’s assertions today. No one wonders why AG Merrick Garland won’t release actual recordings of Mr. Biden’s testimony.
- Videos demonstrating Biden’s advancing senility were smeared as “cheap fakes” by his press secretary. Nope.
- Hunter Biden’s laptop was a classic case of “Russian disinformation.” Nope. The FBI knew it was authentic a year before its release. The entire trope was instigated by (current Secretary of State) Antony Blinken to block a Trump win in 2020. The lie worked.
- “The border is secure.” Nope. Viewers of the ‘right wing’ Fox News could see thousands of illegals pouring over the border on a nightly basis. By contrast, mainstream media outlets focused on the victim status of illegals with headlines like this: “U.S. Policies Like Title 42 Make Migrants More Vulnerable to Smugglers.”
- “Russian Collusion.” Nope. The entire narrative that Donald Trump was a Russian spook was a conspiracy cooked up by Hillary Clinton and her campaign (who paid former British Spy, Christopher Steele, to concoct a phony dossier) and abetted by the mainstream media. The Mueller Report exonerated Trump after a two year investigation.
- Trump called neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia,
“very fine people.” Nope. Joe Biden said this lie was the entire basis for him running for president in 2020. But it IS a lie that he that he and the media like to perpetuate. Even the Left-leaning Snopes has admitted it’s a lie. - The January 6th riot was an insurrection (a capital offense). Nope. If that were the case, someone would have been charged and convicted of an armed insurrection. They haven’t been. A band of right-wing zealots brandishing hockey sticks and bear spray doesn’t rise to the level of an insurrection, and Merrick Garland’s DOJ obviously agrees. That doesn’t stop Big Media from characterizing it thusly.
- Black Lives Matter protests were ‘mostly’ peaceful protests. This was one of the most inartful of lies foisted on us by CNN, superimposed as it was over a building engulfed in flames. In all, 35 people died, 1500 cops were hurt, and the BLM riots inflicted $2 Billion of damage on the country. By contrast, the January 6th riot caused $1.5 Million in damage to the Capital, with a single fatality, Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer.
- COVID lies. This list is too long for a single blogpost. Suffice it to say masks didn’t protect everyone; COVID vaccines didn’t stop the spread; lockdowns didn’t stop the spread.
And then there are the ongoing cultural lies:
- Abortion is reproductive healthcare. No, it isn’t. Abortions are invasive, subverting the natural reproductive processes of healthy women when they conceive their children. Abortions are invasive to the child, because they kill her. Abortion is the biggest lie of all.
- A boy becomes a girl if he says he is a girl; a girl becomes a boy if she says she is a boy. Nope. Another whopper.
The Nazi’s chief propagandist, Joseph Goebbels, refined the art of the lie, and explained exactly how to do it:
“If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.”
“A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.”
“Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident they are acting on their own free will.”
Goebbells ackowledged that the press are key players in helping autocrats perpetuate their propaganda:
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which government can play.”
The role of the media, according to the Catholic Church
Today’s legacy medium have become mere extensions of the Abortion Party to the detriment of our Constitutional Republic (we’re not a Democracy, for the record), directly adversarial to the principals expressed by the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
“The information provided by the media is at the service of the common good. Society has a right to information based on truth, freedom, justice, and solidarity.
The proper exercise of this right demands that the content of the communication be true and – within the limits set by justice and charity – complete. Further, it should be communicated honestly and properly. This means that in the gathering and in the publication of news, the moral law and the legitimate rights and dignity of man should be upheld.”
You know you’re being lied to. So what do you do about it?
First, understand that the Great Deceiver is the ultimate author of all lies. So, if you’re not on your knees praying for clear-thinking in this fog of deceit, if you’re not attending weekly services at your church, get your butt back this Sunday. Ask God to help you see the Truth through the misty vapors of our current zeitgeist.
Maybe you should revisit Howard Beale’s iconic speech from the 1976 movie, Network (above). Said the fictional newscaster:
‘I’m a human being, g*d-dammit! My life has value!’ So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell: ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take this anymore!’
Lies don’t last
Lies can’t last forever, not if your life is tethered in God. Even an atheist like Joseph Goebbels recognized the power of truth:
“There will come a day, when all the lies will collapse under their own weight, and truth will again triumph.”
The Biden debate marks the beginning of the collapse.
