Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Iowa 2nd District, released a Facebook video Sunday morning where he urged political and spiritual leaders across America to open churches back up:

“I know a lot of you out there (Sunday) can’t go to church because of a lack of leadership in our country. It’s interesting to see the Planned Parenthoods, the Walmarts… the pot shops, the liquor stores, they are all ‘essential’ as these guys call it. Let me tell you, when I’m elected to Congress, I’ll get our churches back opened up. Our country is falling apart, and I believe a lot of this is because people aren’t able to go to services on Sunday. I will fight tooth and nail to get the churches open.”

In a statement, as we continue to watch riots engulf the country, Schilling added that the erosion of the family has also played a role:

“America needs church. That’s critical. But we also need intact families. The effort by the progressive left to destroy the family in this country has gone on for too long, and the consequences are now coming home to roost. It’s tragic to see some of these criminals and terrorists rioting and looting and destroying the lives of all these hard-working people and small business owners, many of whom are minorities and first-generation immigrants. Just awful. We need bold leadership to get this country back on track. We need law and order. That’s why I’m running for Congress, and why I hope the voters will vote for me on June 2nd.”
