House Democrats began the process of picking who won Iowa’s Second Congressional District seat.
Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks won the election by six votes according to results certified by Iowa. However, Democrat Rita Hart appealed to the U.S. House of Representatives.
According to Politico, the House Administration Committee met virtually to finalize the process by which it will adjudicate Hart’s appeal.
Hart’s campaign claims 22 ballots were improperly rejected.
The House has not overturned a state-certified election since after the 1984 election.
