Based on comments left by followers of The Iowa Standard on Sunday after President Donald J. Trump finished speaking at CPAC, the 2024 GOP nomination for President is his if he wants it.

“I’m with him all the way to the White House 2024!” said Charles.

“Hell yes!!!!!!” said Kimberly.

“Who else could straighten out the mess we’ll be in,” asked Linda.

Leanne suggested running mates for Trump — Gov. Ron DeSantis, Gov. Kristi Noem or Candace Owens.

But there are those who still have real concerns about election integrity.

“Doesn’t make any difference who runs,” Judy said. “They will just steal the election like they did this time. Voting is a waste of time unless the last election is sorted out. End of story.”

Others suggested alternatives, though said they’d still vote for Trump.

“I’d much rather see a Crenshaw/Noem ticket,” said David.

Mary was the outlier, saying that Trump cannot win.

“His platform won up and down the ticket last November,” she said. “But Trump himself lost. His supporters are aggressively loyal, but there isn’t enough of you.”

For her part, Mary suggested Tim Scott or Nikki Haley as alternatives.

Kody said Republicans ought to find a man who “fears God” now that they have a chance.

Brent said he believes the GOP can do better.
