Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) introduced the One Citizen One Vote Act to restore federalism and defund potentially fraudulent election practices. Hundreds of millions of federal taxpayer dollars have been funneled through the United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to states and jurisdictions that permit non-citizens to vote, prohibit requiring voter I.D., enable third-party ballot harvesting, and other practices that facilitate voter fraud.

“The first principle of elections is that the American people should have confidence in the results. Taxpayers should not subsidize election practices that facilitate voter fraud and undermine that confidence,” said Congressman Good.

The One Citizen One Vote Act would prohibit United States Election Assistance Commission (EAC) funding for any state or jurisdiction that does not require voter I.D. verification, permits ballot harvesting, allows for ballot drop boxes other than at state or local election offices, sends unsolicited mail-in ballots to all registered voters, or permits non-citizens to vote.

“As President Lincoln famously stated, ours is a government ‘of the people, by the people, for the people’, and our election processes must reinforce and ensure those foundational ideals. My bill will incentivize an honest, timely election process that the American people can trust,” said Good.
