Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks flipped her vote for Speaker from conservative Rep. Jim Jordan to moderate Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger. Jordan has a 94 percent voting record as his Liberty Score while Granger has a 51 percent.
On Tuesday, Jordan lost 20 Republican votes. On Wednesday, he lost 22 votes.
Miller-Meeks expressed hesitation when it came to Jordan over the weekend before voting for him on Tuesday. Her support of Jordan for Speaker was nothing like her enthusiasm for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy:
Jordan was endorsed by President Donald J. Trump, who Miller-Meeks has traditionally opposed. Unlike Iowa’s delegation, Jordan did not vote to certify the results of the 2020 election.
