Nebraska conservatives are being challenged to do better following Congressman Don Bacon’s actions over the past week or two. Bacon referred to conservative Congressman Jim Jordan as a “loser” on Twitter following the votes last week for Speaker.
“He was a loser,” Bacon wrote of Jordan. “Most knew it. He and his supporters broke election rules to get there in first place. Election integrity broke Jordan.”
It turns out, a lobbying firm with ties to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell put together a phone call last Monday with Bacon to discuss the fight against Jim Jordan.
“Donald Trump is threatening any member who plans to vote against Rep. Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House,” according to reports.
Bacon continued to be a public opponent of Jordan, who is one of the most popular conservatives in the U.S. House of Representatives. And he has been willing to pick at conservatives on social media to make matters worse.
Bacon was such a vocal critic of conservatives that the Nebraska Democrat Party suggested it was time for Bacon to leave the Republican Party.
