Forty-four percent of likely voters approve of state officials removing Donald J. Trump from the ballot, but 53 percent still disapprove of such a decision.

Forty-four percent of likely voters said they strongly oppose removing Trump while 33 percent strongly approve.

Two-thirds of Democrats approve efforts to keep Trump off the ballot, with 50 percent strongly approving. Seventy-three percent of Republicans disapprove.

Fifty-six percent of unaffiliated voters disapprove of removing Trump from the ballot while 41 percent approve.

Officials in Colorado and Maine removed Trump from the primary ballot in their respective states due to the events surrounding Entrapment Day (Jan. 6, 2021). Officials within the GOP have floated the idea of retaliating by threatening to remove Biden from the ballot.

Though 44 percent of Republicans approve of states retaliating by removing Biden from the ballot, 49 percent of GOP voters disapprove.

Forty-four percent of voters said it is likely banning presidential candidates from ballots could lead to another civil war. Forty-six percent said they don’t think a civil war would result from such action.
