Forty-one percent of likely U.S. voters said it is fair to call Vice President Kamala Harris a “DEI hire” as the issue has garnered attention during the presidential campaign.

According to a Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey, 45 percent of likely voters do not believe it is a fair accusation. Fifteen percent said they were not sure.

Twenty-seven percent of voters believe it is racist to criticize DEI policies. However, 49 percent said it is not racist.

Most of those who believe criticism of DEI is racist are Democrats. Forty-four percent of Dems believe it is racist to criticize DEI. However, just 17 percent of Republicans and 18 percent of unaffiliated voters agree.

Sixty-eight percent of Democrats said it is not fair to call Kamala Harris a “DEI hire.”
