A new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey shows that while Democrats have a favorable view of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Republicans and unaffiliated voters do not.

Forty-two percent of likely voters view Walz favorably, including 27 percent who have a very favorable impression. But 42 percent also have an unfavorable view, with 32 percent holding a very unfavorable view.

Two-thirds of Democrats view Walz favorably, but 62 percent of Republicans and 47 percent of unaffiliated voters hold an unfavorable view. Just 35 percent of unaffiliated voters view Walz favorably.

Interestingly, based on what voters know about Walz’s record, 27 percent said they believe he is moderate, 9 percent said conservative, 23 percent said liberal and 32 percent said he is “radical.”

Thirty-four percent of unaffiliated voters and 52 percent of Republicans consider Walz a radical. Eleven percent of Democrats agree.
