Following the results of the 2024 general election, Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, released the following statement:
“Life wins when there are enough resources to ensure voters know the truth, and when we have political leadership that boldly leads.
Harris campaigned on a platform that pushed for the most radical pro-abortion policies in American history, including allowing abortion on babies through all nine months of pregnancy and stripping states of their ability to protect preborn children. She aimed to eliminate the Hyde Amendment, which has saved over two million lives by preventing taxpayer funding of abortions. Harris called for codifying Roe v. Wade into federal law, ensuring nationwide abortion on demand even in states that want to protect life. Her anti-human vision also included expanding killing via chemical abortions and mandating that healthcare professionals commit abortions against their consciences. She sought to funnel federal funding to abortion groups like Planned Parenthood while targeting life-affirming pregnancy resource centers. Harris would have continued the political persecution against pro-life activists, seeking to selectively prosecute those she disagreed with to federal prison for their peaceful activism.
This campaign of abortion extremism made Harris the most pro-abortion presidential candidate in our nation’s history. But when faced with this radical agenda, the American people said no. Her defeat underscores a growing recognition that a future built on the destruction of innocent lives is no future at all.
We congratulate President Donald J. Trump on his victory. As he starts his second term in the Oval Office, we urge President Trump to rescind the executive order mandating abortion on military bases, to reinstate the Mexico City Policy, and to pardon the peaceful pro-life activists selectively prosecuted and imprisoned by the current DOJ including Joan Bell, Bevelyn Williams, Lauren Handy, and others.
We urge Congress to pass and President Trump to sign legislation that would defund Planned Parenthood, ensure the equal protection of preborn children, and make America the most welcoming country in the world to raise a family.
Florida, South Dakota, and Nebraska illustrated that life is a winning issue when resources and political leadership are effectively leveraged. In Florida, even after being outspent by a hundred million dollars, life prevailed. Governor Ron DeSantis brought urgently needed political leadership to that campaign as well. In nearly all of the ten states that had abortion on the ballot, we saw competitive races with millions of pro-life votes. Even with unprecedented spending on pro-abortion propaganda, lack of pro-life political leadership, and the capture of the media by the abortion lobby, the abortion industry was barely able to win in seven states with their deceptively written amendments.
Live Action also provided resources and voter education against the abortion amendments alongside Live Action’s sister 501c4 organization Live Action Victory, with our ads being viewed over 12.5 million times in Florida and Missouri. We are proud of our contribution to the victory in Florida. We are heartbroken for the human life that will be destroyed because of the losses in Missouri and six other states that codified a right to kill children through abortion in their state constitutions. In Missouri, the abortion industry had a 30 million dollar spending advantage, which in Missouri’s relatively small media markets meant Missouri airwaves were flooded with pro-abortion lies with too few resources to counter those lies with the truth.
Live Action’s mission is to change hearts and minds on abortion, and we have the content and strategies proven to do so. After viewing just one of our abortion procedures videos showing what an abortion is and how it is performed, 19% of pro-choice women shifted their views to say that abortion should never be legal. With expanded investment and resources for education, the pro-life side could win direct referenda on protecting children from abortion in nearly any state. The pro-life movement needs an additional 10% support nationally, and we can win everywhere. With enough resources supporting a proven voter education strategy, the pro-life movement can achieve national victory.
Life wins when there are enough resources to ensure voters know the truth, and we have political leadership that boldly leads. The stakes are high, and we have a tremendous task ahead. By focusing on proven mind-changing content, we will secure victory to save lives and end abortion in America.
