On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to reelect Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) as speaker.
American Principles Project (APP) supported Johnson’s candidacy, with APP President Terry Schilling declaring his endorsement of Johnson earlier this week.
Schilling released the following statement cheering the vote result:
“Pro-family conservatives nationwide should be elated by today’s reelection of Speaker Mike Johnson.
“Since receiving the gavel, Speaker Johnson has been a staunch ally of American families. In recent weeks, he has helped achieve some significant pro-family policy wins, including banning taxpayer funding for the sterilization of gender-confused children in the NDAA and prohibiting men in women’s bathrooms and private spaces in the Capitol. And Johnson has made clear he will continue to prioritize these important and popular issues in the new Congress.
“While so many past GOP congressional leaders have been easily bullied by the far-left propaganda machine, Speaker Johnson has shown an admirable willingness to reject the intimidation and stand strong on principle. We congratulate the speaker on his reelection today, and we look forward to working with him in the coming weeks to advance President Trump’s bold, pro-family legislative agenda.”
