On Monday, Donald Trump announced his selection of Senator J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate on the Republican ticket for the upcoming election.

In response, Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project (APP), released the following statement cheering the decision:

“Donald Trump’s choice of Senator J.D. Vance as the next vice president sends another strong signal of his enduring commitment to American families.

“Sen. Vance is one of the most dedicated pro-family leaders in the Republican Party today. He was an early signer of APP’s Big Family Pledge during his run for Senate in 2022, promising to stand up to the left’s assaults on the rights of parents and the innocence of children. And since being elected, he has been a consistent champion of policies aimed at helping families. In particular, his willingness to combat the predatory transgender industry and his fierce advocacy for free speech online have been especially admirable.

“A Donald Trump-J.D. Vance administration will be an incredible ally to families and a much needed antidote to the disastrous and destructive Democrat regime of Joe Biden. The contrast between the tickets could not be clearer, and we at APP look forward to ensuring voters recognize these stark differences ahead of the election this fall.”
