Congresswoman Cindy Axne found herself in the middle of Tucker Carlson’s opening on Wednesday night. Axne made disparaging remarks about her constituents while discussing vaccination and masking efforts.

Carlson highlighted Axne as an example of politicians loathing and hating their constituents.

“So now all the schools are back wanting to put mask mandates in and all the anti-vaxxer crazies are out there with their…their…it’s a hot mess.”

“I’ll be honest, the Christian right is, you know, everything under the guise while they hold a cross, you know, for God or whatever, and they use it like a weaopn. And it’s painful to watch. They’ve weaponized religion, they’ve weaponized politics…”

Carlson quickly pointed out Axne’s hypocrisy as Republican politicians haven’t shut down abortion clinics, but Democrats — and some Republicans even — did shut down churches.

Axne attempts to fashion herself as a bipartisan, willing-to-work-across-the-aisle Democrat. But this comment reveals her core. It reveals who she really is.

And it speaks volumes.
