Congresswoman Cindy Axne quickly sent out a fundraising email on Tuesday after news broke of State Sen. Zach Nunn’s decision to run for the Republican nomination in the Third Congressional District. Axne’s fundraising email says that Nunn is the “polar opposite” of Axne — I imagine Nunn’s team will turn around and use that in their own fundraising email.

Axne labels Nunn as “the most extreme” of all of Axne’s opponents. They describe Nunn as “anti-choice, anti-gun safety and an extreme right-winger that aligns with Trumpian ideology.”

“We cannot allow Iowa’s Democratic voices to be stifled,” the email said. “If he takes her seat (interesting, I thought it was the seat of Iowans in the Third District), we will have no Democratic representation in Congress for our state.”

Gee, maybe it’s the Democrat Party then.

Nunn is criticized by Axne for voting in support of a waiting period before a doctor can kill an unborn baby through abortion.

It may be overly simplistic, but Nunn could easily take the text of the same fundraising email and use it as his own.

Because Third District Republicans are looking for exactly the “polar opposite” of Cindy Axne.

Nunn launched his campaign with this video:
