President Joe Biden’s low popularity numbers here in Iowa aren’t enough for Congresswoman Cindy Axne to keep her distance. Despite a recent Iowa Poll showing only 23 percent of Iowans hope Biden runs for president again, Axne is hoping Biden visits the Hawkeye State.

According to Bloomberg, Axne said she would welcome Biden back to Iowa and encourage him to meet with potential voters as much as possible.

“Joe Biden needs to be on the ground talking to folks,” she said. “Because when he is, they love him.”

Even among Iowa Democrats, just 37 percent said Biden should run for president once more.

Only 23 percent of unaffiliated voters and 4 percent of Iowa Republicans approve of Biden’s job as President.

His 27 percent approval rating in Iowa is down eight points since March.

Despite those findings, Axne is hopeful Biden comes to campaign with her.

That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for her.
