Del Rio Sector U.S. Border Patrol agents have arrested two convicted sex offenders, since Sept. 24.

On Sept. 24, Brackettville Station agents arrested eight Mexican nationals following a Kinney County Sherriff’s Office pursuit. During processing, records checks revealed that one of the men arrested, a citizen of Mexico, was convicted of sexual assault of a person who cannot consent in Chicago in 2006, and was subsequently sentenced to 4 years confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in July 2021.

On Sept. 30, Comstock Station agents conducting patrol operations, arrested a group of 16 near Comstock. During processing, records checks revealed that, a 39-year-old citizen of Mexico, was convicted of sexual assault of a child in Huntsville, Texas, in 2008, and sentenced to 5 years confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in July 2019.

As convicted felons, they both face charges of 8 USC § 1326 – re-entry after deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
