U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations officers at the Laredo Port of Entry apprehended a traveler wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for indecency with a child by sexual contact.
“Our frontline officers continue to maintain strict vigilance in upholding our border security mission. Today’s apprehension of a man wanted on outstanding felony warrant for indecency with a child by sexual contact perfectly illustrates our dedication to keeping our communities safe,” said (A) Port Director Eugene Crawford, Laredo Port of Entry.
The apprehension occurred on Sunday, June 23 at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge. CBP officers conducted a primary examination on a 75-year-old male Mexican citizen who was referred to secondary for further inspection due to a possible match to an outstanding warrant. CBP officers conducted a fingerprint check and utilizing national law enforcement databases confirmed his identity as Porfirio Cruz Pecina, a man wanted by the Laredo Police Department on an outstanding felony warrant for indecency with a child by sexual contact. Cruz Pecina was turned over to the Laredo Police Department for transport to Webb County Jail pending extradition proceedings and warrant adjudication.
