The GOP messaging is Ride the Red Wave and I feel like I am being asked to join the Red Wave Baseball Team. Interesting campaign strategy, but instantly I thought is this our winning strategy?  Play on our team we are going to win this time. We have played this game before and even when the GOP wins the House and Senate not much of anything changes. For instance, 47 GOP congresspeople voted for HR8404 in the US house, this bill codifies same sex marriage as Federal Law. This when passed will institute federal law in our nation above God’s natural law and likely to ensure the persecution of the Church, Christian Ministries and Christians across our country. Upon hearing about this I was immediately convicted that I could not support or vote for my Congresswoman in November because she voted for this. I wrestled with this for a little over a week.  God knew I needed a booster so as God does, he directed me to Steve Deace’s Podcasts where Steve asked this question, what is your no go and where is your Red Line? Do you keep moving your Red Line? He reminded us of Romans 1.

After listening to Steve and reading Romans 1 it became crystal clear for me. Repeatedly during the last two years the Holy Spirit has convicted me and directed me to look at this world through a Biblical Worldview. Convicting me to rely on what God has to say and above all responding by Faith and guided by God’s word. Was my walk with the lord the last two years designed for me to answer this question? Will I have faith in God, or will I bow and submit to the spirit of the age?  Do I have faith in God when I vote for a leader who voted for HR8404?  Do I have faith when I vote for someone who has helped the government persecute the church? Will my vote glorify God?  I want to be counted as one described in Romans 1: 16-17 but not as one described in Romans 1: 18-32.  In my mind I see a picture of Red Wave Republicans calling out in front of the Church Persecute her, persecute her when just days ago they were celebrating the church. I do not want to be counted as one in that crowd exclaiming with my vote persecute the church, persecute the church when I meet my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I ponder this, a person such as me of little significance and of little faith wrestled with my conviction and I prayed that I would get clarity and God sent Steve Deace, but when I wrote my congresswoman about my concern, I received a form email that did not address the concerns raised in my email. Seems my significance to God was paramount and my significance to my congresswoman was nil.   I look to God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I wonder are we humbled enough to have a Faith Wave or do we still look for our safety and security in the false Hope of the Red Wave. If not with the passage of HR8404 into law and the addition of 87,000 new federal agents to enforce these edicts upon our churches, communities and our lives will we then humble ourselves and call on the Lord? How much longer will this nation live the verses of Romans 1: 18-32?

My Faith is in Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior.
