Going into America Fest 2021 I was not familiar with former Navy SEAL turned elite ultra-runner Chadd Wright. So the fact he exceeded my expectations is not a surprise.
But he stole the show. It wasn’t even close. And he did so as part of a panel discussion. I can only imagine how good he would have been had he had his own speaking slot. It isn’t that it was revolutionary or anything most of us hadn’t thought before, but it hadn’t been said out loud. The reason we’re having to debate the transgender movement is because we lost or gave up on the homosexual movement. That’s another conversation for another day.
But here is what he said that, to me, was exactly what needed to be said to the crowd of 10,000 young conservatives:
“There is an all-out war on your perspective of reality,” Wright said. “We have a large percentage of our population that are living in an alternate reality. If you can convince me to say that two people of the same-sex can produce a child, what else can you convince me to say? You can convince me to say whatever you want me to say. It’s about reality man. We have to return to reality — what is real. What is real.”
There has been a lot of discussion about the transgender movement here at America Fest. A lot. More than I expected. But the issue of homosexuality hadn’t really been discussed at all. At least discussed in a memorable way.
Wright finished his portion of the panel discussion by telling the crowd:
“The most important thing I can tell you is read your freaking Bible and give your heart to Jesus.”
