One Des Moines resident had enough of what she called “jack-activism.” The woman said the protestors have been a “bunch of jackasses” and she is “tired of it.”

Des Moines Black Lives Matter activists along with supporters have been creating issues at in-person council meetings since they resumed. On Monday the disruptions led to four arrests and this exchange between an individual and council member Joe Gatto.

One Des Moines woman wasn’t having it.

“That’s enough,” she can be heard saying. “You set yourself up for this. You set yourself up for this to happen. It’s your fault, not theirs. So don’t go blaming our city council.”

The woman said her voice has been silent because of the behavior of these so-called “activists.”

“I believe in activism, but not this jack-activism,” the woman said. “That’s what it is. They’re being a bunch of jackasses. There’s activism and there’s jack-activism. And you guys have been a bunch of jackasses and I’m tired of it. I’m done.”
