Well, Democrats who were hoping to spend an evening with drag queens in order to raise money for Ras Smith’s campaign for governor had those hopes dashed.
A fundraiser called “Politics Are a Drag” was supposed to be held at Decades Event Center in West Des Moines tonight. It was going to be a “fabulous night of drag queens, drinks and politics.”
But, instead, it was canceled.
“Disappointed to announce that this event has been canceled,” said Democrat State Rep. Amy Nielsen. “We will try to reschedule at a later date.”

Crazy.
All in the name of “progress.”
