Bondurant City Councilman, Mayor Pro-Tem and former Polk County GOP Chairman, Wes Enos has announced his candidacy for Board of Supervisors for Polk County, District 3. Enos announced his candidacy on Saturday, March 14th at the 2020 Polk County GOP Convention.

“If you aren’t satisfied with the representation you have, sometimes you have to step up and do it yourself,” said Enos. “I have fought for conservative principles for over 20 years. I’m not afraid to stand up and demand fiscal accountability, electoral integrity and term limits for elected officials in Polk County.” Enos continued.

Wes grew up in Altoona and graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1998. He earned his B.A. from Grand View University in 2005. After graduation, Wes settled in Bondurant where he currently lives with his wife, Amy.

Wes has a distinguished career as a community leader. Currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Bondurant Wes has served on the Bondurant City Council since 2013. A well-known conservative leader in Iowa, Wes is a former Polk County GOP Chairman. Wes has served on the Iowa GOP State Central Committee as a past Chairman of the Iowa GOP’s Legislative Campaign committee; and as Chairman of the Iowa 3rd Congressional District Republican Convention; Locally, Wes serves as Campaign Committee Chairman for Senator Zach Nunn and Representative Brian Lohse. Senator Zach Nunn and Representative Brian Lohse will serve as Co-Chairs of Wes’ Campaign for Supervisor.

Wes has highlighted his priorities as reducing property tax levels at the county level, reign in wasteful government spending, cutting pay for elected officials and demanding term limits for elected officials at a county level. “Polk County Government is too big, taxes too much and is not accountable enough with the money entrusted to them by taxpayers. It’s time for us to draw a line and say; enough is enough!” said Wes.
