On Tuesday, Senator Joni Ernst criticized President Joe Biden’s Green New Deal regulation which pushes Americans toward electric vehicles (EVs) that require lithium and cobalt, often mined and processed with slave labor in China or child labor in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ernst noted her bipartisan success in prohibiting the Department of Defense from purchasing EVs made with forced labor and highlighted Republicans’ ongoing work to unleash American energy production.
