Mariannette Miller-Meeks is now taking hits from a number of conservative leaders this week as her campaign continues to flail around aimlessly in the final stretch.

In a tweet on Monday, Bob Vander Plaats, President and CEO of The FAMiLY LEADER, said, “This surfaced video where @millermeeks states she is “pro-choice” is most concerning. #IA02 voters need to get “pro-life” clarity from her before going to the polls.”

Matt Schlapp, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, also expressed concern about Miller-Meeks in a tweet: “Conservs in IA02 have a primary choice. If defending the unborn + backing Trump over Hillary in ’16 are priorities @BobbySchilling is your candidate. He’s never wavered on life or Trump. @millermeeks has a strong cons voting rating of 93 but was pro choice and turned on Trump.”

Terry Schilling, campaign manager for Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Iowa 2nd District, released the following statement:

“Conservative leaders are asking voters in the Iowa 2nd District to take a good hard look at Mariannette Miller-Meeks — is she really someone we can trust? She claims she’s been with Trump since the beginning, but in October 2016 she was calling him a “liar” and “corrupt.” She claims she’s pro-life, but in 2018 she said she was “pro-choice” and believed abortion was a decision “best left to providers, to doctors, and to patients.”

“Conservatives have been betrayed countless times by spineless politicians who will say or do anything to get elected. Enough. We have a dependable choice in the Iowa 2nd District, and that’s Bobby Schilling. In one week, Iowa voters are going to go with the guy who they can trust.”
