Florida’s Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo is calling for an immediate stop of the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA injections, citing their potential ability to harmfully modify the human genome from “DNA fragments” found in the shots.

Dr. Ladapo is making this call based on an October 2023 study by virologist Dr. David Speicher, immunologist and biochemist Dr. Jessica Rose, pathologist Dr. David Wiseman, as well as Microbiologist Kevin McKernan, who found “DNA fragments” in these mRNA shots linked to many health risks. In this study, these scientists examined 27 vials of COVID mRNA products and found “billions to hundreds of billions of DNA molecules per dose” and determined this “residual DNA” far exceeded guidelines set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

McKernan has cautioned that the DNA could “integrate” into the human genome potentially causing genes not to function properly which could lead to cancer, mutations, birth defects, or other adverse side effects. The scientists of this study noted that Pfizer did not disclose, “annotate,” nor discuss the potential risks of these fragments, or even their use or presence in the shots during the FDA approval process.

However, Pfizer does admit on its website that “mRNA technology is a good fit for gene editing. We want to make these editing proteins for a short period of time to modify the genome.”

In a January 3, 2024 press release on the Florida Health Website, Dr. Ladapo stated, “DNA integration poses a unique and elevated risk to human health and to the integrity of the human genome, including the risk that DNA integrated into sperm or egg gametes could be passed onto offspring of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine recipients. If the risks of DNA integration have not been assessed for mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, these vaccines are not appropriate for use in human beings.”

In a statement on X, Dr. Ladapo declared, “I am calling for a halt to the use of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have always played it fast and loose with COVID-19 vaccine safety, but their failure to test for DNA integration with the human genome — as their own guidelines dictate — when the vaccines are known to be contaminated with foreign DNA is intolerable.”

In December 2023, Dr. Ladapo sent a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Dr. Mandy Cohen expressing his concerns about the high levels of DNA molecules in the mRNA shots.

Dr. Ladapo wrote, “I am writing to you to address the recent discovery of host cell DNA fragments within the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. This raises concerns regarding the presence of nucleic acid contaminants in the approved Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, particularly in the presence of lipid nanoparticle complexes…Lipid nanoparticles are an efficient vehicle for delivery of the mRNA in the COVID-19 vaccines into human cells, and may therefore be an equally efficient vehicle for delivering contaminant DNA into human cells.”

In the letter, Dr. Ladapo cited FDA guidance from 2007 regarding the FDA’s regulatory limits for DNA in vaccines, which listed several health risks that could directly affect human genes and healthy cells, such as:

  • “DNA integration could theoretically impact a human’s oncogenes – the genes which can transform a healthy cell into a cancerous cell.”
  • “DNA integration may result in chromosomal instability.”
  • “…integration could affect unintended parts of the body including blood, heart, brain, liver, kidney, bone marrow, ovaries/testes, lung, draining lymph nodes, spleen, the site of administration and subcutis at injection site.”

In response, Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, said that the agency remains “confident” that the COVID shots are safe and that it “is quite implausible” that the “residual small DNA fragments…could find their way into the nucleus through the nuclear membrane present in intact cells and then be incorporated into chromosomal DNA.”

Dr. Ladapo noted that the FDA’s response did not provide any data or evidence that the agency performed the DNA integration assessments that their guidelines require them to do.

In a previous letter to the FDA and CDC in May 2023, Dr. Ladapo stated, “Your ongoing decision to ignore many of the risks associated with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, alongside your efforts to manipulate the public into thinking they are harmless, have resulted in deep distrust in the American health care system.”

Due to the findings of the DNA fragments, the World Council for Health and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons also call for all mRNA injections to be stopped worldwide and for the COVID-19 shots to be recalled.

Dr. Ladapo also recommended physicians who are concerned about the health risks associated with COVID-19 to “prioritize non-mRNA vaccines and treatment.”

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “Dr. Joseph Ladapo continues to challenge government agencies and Big Pharma with scientific data exposing serious concerns about the COVID shots. The research continues to show these experimental shots are harmful and were never safe nor effective. These mRNA COVID shots should be discontinued.”
