Now that we’ve started a new year, FRC would like to invite you to start another journey with us through the Bible. The “Stand on the Word” Bible reading plan provides daily readings through the Scriptures over two years that are chronologically organized. In other words, each reading takes you through the Bible as events happen in history. We encourage you to invite your family or a group of friends to join you in reading through the Bible. There is great spiritual synergy in reading the same page of Scripture together.
The good news for this journey is that we’ve added some new tools to help. During our first journey through the Bible over the previous two years, we had a calendar with the readings included that was available as a PDF for download and print or for purchase and sent by mail, and we are still doing that for 2022-23. However, we added an interactive web page at FRC.org/Bible. When you visit, you will find a user-friendly format that offers links to the day’s Bible reading, which will be front and center. Note that you can choose between the ESV and the NKJV translations as well as an audio version for those who want to listen to the Bible. Also on that page, we have a couple of questions for daily discussion and on Sundays, we have a discussion day where families and friends gather to have a conversation about what God said to them over the past week.
But wait, there’s more. We also feature commentary on the daily Bible readings, including video devotionals from FRC President Tony Perkins. These brief devotionals offer a poignant explanation and timely application from the Bible reading for that day. Also, Lt. General Jerry Boykin has a weekly devotional for our Stand Courageous men that follows the Bible reading program that will pop up on the FRC.org/Bible web page as we read along and get to the text in the devotional.
I know… I can almost hear someone saying: “You know, I would love to participate, but I just don’t have the time,” or “I’m afraid I wouldn’t stick with it,” or “I don’t have anyone to read with.”
Honestly, we make time for what is important to us and what is more important than spending time with God and hearing what he has to say to us in his word? As for those who say they wouldn’t stick with it, there are a lot of people who start and don’t finish reading through the Bible, but with this plan you will receive encouragement along the way by weekly texts or daily emails, whichever you choose. Plus, you can easily scroll back in the plan to the date you dropped off and catch up, or you can just jump back in at the current date. And for those who say, “I don’t have anyone to read with,” start with your family members or a group of friends. Text them the daily readings and questions or forward the daily email.
Regardless, you will not be reading the Bible alone. There are multiplied thousands who will be reading along through the Bible with us. And that is what makes “Stand on the Word” so powerful. Just imagine the spiritual synergy of thousands of people hearing a word from God from the same pages of Scripture each day! The impact could be life-changing as well as nation-changing!
Again, we make it simple to join in. Visit FRC.org/Bible or text the word “Bible” to 67742 to sign up. Join us as we Stand on the Word in 2022!
