Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have embraced gender ideology, again putting themselves at significant legal risk. In the wake of a major child abuse scandal, Scouts BSA continues to have a predator problem.
A couple of years ago, one of the more senior leaders in our BSA council deliberately concealed my daughter’s mental deterioration from me when she suffered from Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD). This woman was not alone in this concealment, but it is by no means the advised policy of Scouts BSA based on their Youth Protection Training. She just did it. Side note – my daughter recovered after a Homeric battle.
This woman, with the usual woke hair coloring, and another, who has a trans-identifying nephew, decided to take a group of pubescent teenage girls on a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch. I tagged along and was able to witness the gender ideology embedded in one of the world’s leading scout facilities.
My daughter has been a point of division ever since she recovered from ROGD, for which I was to blame. The group of girls has another member currently suffering from Gender Dysphoria, and this girl is NOT prospering. She is unable to function independently and is worsening, both mentally and physically. Naturally, the two women I mentioned wholeheartedly affirm this girl. The trans-identified nephew of one of the women is also deteriorating. The only person in this small GD circle who is prospering is my daughter. Consequently, for this entire trip I was to be punished.
Besides isolating me emotionally and physically, the girls were encouraged to disrespect me. Once the situation became comfortable for the two women, they began to preach gender ideology to the girls and tell them that they could become men with sex reassignment surgery. I made general side observations away from those conversations, pointing out that stereotypes are meaningless and that the girls should understand that sometimes people lie by not giving them all the facts. I couldn’t help being amused by the thought that, in some circles, what the die-hard trans advocates were preaching would be considered transphobic.
The two female leaders were not the only threats the girls unknowingly faced. In one of the staffed camps, there was a male autogynephilic (AGP) named “Violet” who I immediately noticed had an unhealthy interest in 15-year-old females. While he attempted to avoid me after noticing my attention to his activities, I still overheard him offering pills “like ibuprofen” to another underage female when he didn’t realize I was just out of view. The girls in my group adored him, not realizing I wasn’t leaving them alone anywhere near him. The two female leaders fawned all over him as soon as they realized he had aroused my concern. If I wasn’t there, they would have left the girls alone with him in a group of revelers later that evening.
At another staffed camp, there was a fascinating musical band of pride representatives. A queer young man played a box drum. A gay young man wearing an “Action Pride Network” pin played guitar. At this event, a trans-identifying female experienced what I can only describe as an epiphany and woke up from the gender ideology cult right before my eyes. The girls I was with were the ones that triggered it for her. They would shout cheers out of the blue and one of them ends with “baby”. As they did their cheer before the Philmont performers, the trans-identifying female’s face fell and shock momentary filled her eyes. Her “frog” voice betrayed that she had possibly sterilized herself. I was certain she’d already had a double mastectomy. Notice here that the AGP had done nothing but change his name and pronouns which eased his access to young girls appallingly, whereas this young woman probably has been sterilized and just woke up to that fact.
While I would write Philmont and warn them, the U.S. government undoubtedly would threaten them if they made any adjustments to current policy. So, this is my warning to parents whose kids are in Scouts BSA: gender ideologists are embedded in the organization and are trying to convert your children during trips, even high adventures. Threats to obey the ideology are in the Youth Protection Training materials relative to pronoun usage. While all this is disturbing, I sense that most volunteers in Scouts BSA are, like me, quite skeptical. It’s not too late to take the organization back, but people like the female leaders I encountered and whomever at Philmont decided to preference hire based on queer theory need to be pushed out before they inflict irreparable damage.
It’s not just scouts BSA. After my daughter recovered from ROGD, she couldn’t pinpoint a particular source that led her to believe she was male from not being the ultra-girly female stereotype. She said it came from ‘everywhere’.
This last detail is for trans identifying kids. The two female leaders who believe in affirming “trans kids” are going on another trip with this gender non-conforming group of girls. For this event, they had to separate into two teams. The leaders did not separate themselves between the teams. They put themselves on one team and the other parents on the partner team. Then they apportioned the girls among the two teams. Guess which girls they selected for their team? Among them, my daughter, the desistor. Guess which girls they selected for the other team? The trans identifying girl, which is guaranteed to reduce resources to deal with her needs. No, her parents are not on this trip. Rather adults completely unknown to her going to have to figure out how to manage her.
So, here’s the moral of this story for trans-identifying members of BSA: the adults affirming your trans identity are going to pick the desistor when it’s time to select whom to work with. Beware of sweet words, glowing praise without having actually done anything, and adult encouragement to consider yourself a victim. These same people will abandon you when they can’t include everyone…in favor of the kids who are self-reliant, including those who stopped identifying as trans. The injuries you live with become someone else’s problem. The next time an adult asks for your pronouns or posts the progress flag prominently, think of these two leaders abandoning the trans identifying girl.
