Republican State Rep. Michael Bergan joined the Democrats on Monday as he voted against the bill that will protect women’s sports.

House File 2416 makes it so biological females are the only individuals allowed to compete in female sports essentially.

Bergan was the lone Republican to vote against the measure.

During his time in the legislature, Bergan has also voted against a bill that prohibited Sanctuary Cities and Counties as well as the Heartbeat Bill (in committee). He also voted against Stand Your Ground legislation.

Bergan did eventually vote for the Heartbeat Bill on the floor after an amendment.
