After continued advocacy and engagement from Representative Ashley Hinson (IA-01), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced that Lock & Dam No.10 in Guttenberg, Iowa, will receive approximately $2.9 million in federal funding for essential infrastructure upgrades. Hinson released the following statement on the new investment.

“I strongly advocated for federal funding for Lock & Dam No. 10 in Guttenberg and I am excited to bring this meaningful infrastructure investment to our district. The lock and dam system along the Upper Mississippi River drives every aspect of our economy. Iowa’s producers rely on these waterways to get their products to market, and it is critical to our agriculture industry and entire economy that our locks and dams are resilient and reliable. As a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue advocating for infrastructure investments in our community.” –Congresswoman Ashley Hinson

Hinson recently brought the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Lock & Dam No. 11 in Dubuque, Iowa, and discussed the need for continued investments in Iowa’s lock and dam system along the entire Mississippi River.
