According to reports, United States Capital Police have released a photo that purportedly shows Democrat Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulling a fire alarm inside the Cannon Building in an effort to allegedly obstruct House proceedings.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter, saying that Bowman pulled the fire alarm in the Cannon Building to interrupt the official proceedings while House Republicans were working to keep the government open.

“I’m calling on the DOJ to prosecute him using the same law they used to prosecute J6 defendants for interfering with an official proceeding,” MTG said. “The Democrats literally will do anything to shut OUR government down because billions aren’t going to their favorite country — Ukraine.”

Congressman Troy Nehls said he heard Bowman was caught on camera pulling the fire alarm as well in an effort to delay a vote on the continuing resolution.

“If true, he should be charged with obstructing an official proceeding, which is a felony,” Nehls wrote. “As a former Sheriff, I’d happily slap the cuffs on him.”

According to a tweet from a reporter, Bowman’s spokesperson Emma Simon said the congressman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was “rushing” to make an urgent vote.

“The Congressman regrets any confusion,” Simon reportedly said.
