The Iowa Republican Party of Iowa decided against requiring caucusgoers to register with the GOP prior to caucus night. Instead, voters will be able to register as Republicans the night of the caucus if they wish to participate. This will allow some Democrats to register as Republicans and vote in the GOP caucus.

We know that because Democrats have already posted about it.

And this time, it’s a post from Iowa Democratic Veterans’ Caucus Facebook page that lets us know:

“Has the idea been floated around about Iowa Democrats going to the caucuses and register Republican for the night and vote for someone like Niki (sic) Haley (who is married to a veteran) to try to keep Trump from winning the Iowa nomination? Enough people for ONE person might do it. If enough of us did it. I think my wife and I are going to do it. WHO WANTS TO JOIN US?”

It will be interesting to see if this strategy actually happens.
