Why does the Left hate the Founders? The Cultural Affairs Committee of New York City Council is hearing legislation that would require the city’s Public Design Commission to publish a plan to remove works of art on Big Apple property “that depict a person who owned enslaved persons or directly benefited economically from slavery, or who participated in systemic crimes against indigenous peoples or other crimes against humanity.” This involves removing statues and paintings of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Christopher Columbus, Peter Stuyvesant, and others.
This is, of course, an outgrowth of the “1619 Project” and Critical Race Theory. No matter the contributions of any individual, if that person in any way participated in slavery or the Confederacy, they have become persona non grata in our society. Since white people are the oppressors and “people of color” are the oppressed, anyone who fits these categories is either condemned or lauded.
Using slavery as a basis of argument against those who founded this country, the Left is attempting to discredit, not just the individuals, but the entire system. Since George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and others of our Founding Fathers were slave owners, whatever they created is defiled. Therefore, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution, the very documents that establish the United States of America as a nation, should be discarded. The foundation of this nation is corrupt and therefore the entire thing needs to be torn down and replaced.
Our Founders who are facing removal participated in a culture and economy that had been handed down to them through the centuries. It doesn’t make it right or good, but it explains the reasons for their involvement in the subjugation of African slaves. What the Left wants to replace our current system with is nothing other than socialism and communism based, ironically, on the writings of Karl Marx, a noted racist, and whose philosophies created entire slave cultures in places like North Korea, China, Cuba, and Venezuela.
It really isn’t that the Left hates George Washington and the others who established this nation. What is really happening is that those on the Left who have bought into Marxism hate freedom. They hate everything this country stands for. The statues and paintings of the geniuses who gave us this nation are the victims of ignorance and deception. These men weren’t perfect, but they don’t deserve the disrespect and dishonor that they are receiving.

He consults with numerous state and federal legislators on policy and legislation and speaks to a variety of groups across the nation each year.
Tim’s ability to tell the story of America’s past, while helping audiences understand how that connects to the present and what steps should be taken for the future, has inspired audiences nationwide. Tim has been a guest on numerous national television and radio programs including The Ben Shapiro Show, the Glenn Beck Program, Louder With Crowder, TBN, Andrew Wommack Ministries, Believer’s Voice of Victory, and many others.
Tim graduated from college with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Biblical Studies. During college, he mentored youth, working with local youth groups and serving at an orphanage. He worked for several years as a senior counselor at a large youth camp in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He also served as an athletic director, teacher, and coach at a Christian School in Texas.
Regardless of where he is, Tim speaks into the lives of those around him, encouraging them to live passionately and to follow Christ whole-heartedly.
