STAND has designated the five weeks between May 14 (Mother’s Day) and June 18 (Father’s Day) as Celebrate Traditional Marriage and Family Month.

The Left has attempted to coopt the month of June as LGBTQ++ Pride Month. Christian believers and traditionalists should not bow the knee to this attempt to distract us from the truth. Genesis 1 and 2 are clear that when God created human beings, He created them male and female, and His instructions to them were that they should be fruitful and multiply.

It is an indisputable biological fact that there are only two genders, male and female. So, in the family, there cannot be two “mommies” or two “daddies.” There are only mothers and fathers.

If today’s progressives define a mother as a “birthing person,” then, pray tell, how do they define a father?

Father’s Day was first celebrated in the state of Washington on June 19, 1910. The idea of celebrating fathers was not nearly as popular as Mother’s Day. It wasn’t until 1972, in the midst of a presidential reelection race, that President Nixon declared Father’s Day a national holiday.

The Bible does not define “father.” It does, however, describe what a father does. A father provides guidance and direction to his children. He is responsible for training them in the ways of the Lord. He protects his family from attack. He provides spiritual covering for his wife and children. He is a living flesh and blood demonstration of Father God.
