The North Carolina Board of Elections Tuesday officially certified the We The People party. Also on Tuesday, We The People officially announced the party has nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for president and Nicole Shanahan for vice president, giving them certified ballot access in the swing state of North Carolina.

“These candidates are steadfast in their commitment to our core values,” said We The People North Carolina Vice Chair Ryan Rabah. “These commitments include dismantling the two-party duopoly, fostering peaceful dialogue, and safeguarding constitutional freedoms.”

North Carolina marks the second swing state — following Michigan — where Kennedy’s ballot access has been officially certified. The board’s decision comes after it voted last month to deny We The People North Carolina ballot access, despite having collected nearly double the required number of signatures.

“I want to thank the thousands of volunteers and supporters in North Carolina who made this victory possible,” said Kennedy. “This shows that the DNC’s challenges are frivolous and we will defeat them all.”

North Carolina marks Kennedy’s second challenge victory over the DNC, following We The People Hawaii’s victory in April, where Kennedy volunteers defeated the Democratic Party’s lawyers and staff. The campaign retains a perfect record in defeating DNC challenges.

Kennedy is on track to become the first independent presidential candidate to achieve ballot access in all 50 states and the District of Columbia under the most restrictive ballot access regime in our nation’s history. His bid to get on the ballot has been met with an unprecedented multi-million dollar lawfare campaign by the DNC.

The Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has collected the signatures needed for ballot access in 28 states, totaling 384 electoral votes, 71% of the 538 total electoral votes nationwide.

The Kennedy-Shanahan ticket is officially on the ballot in 10 statesCalifornia, Delaware, Hawaii, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah.

The campaign has submitted its signatures in 14 statesAlaska, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington

It has collected enough signatures for ballot access in 4 states Florida, Idaho, Iowa, and New Hampshire

On May 1, the Kennedy campaign released results from a Zogby poll showing Kennedy beats both Presidents Biden and Trump in head-to-head matchups. Trump defeats Biden handily. Kennedy beats President Trump in a two-way race, by a tight margin. In a two-way race between Kennedy and President Biden, Kennedy wins in a landslide. Kennedy is the first independent ever to defeat both major party candidates in head-to-head matchups.
