Good evening Legislators,

Thank you for your commitment to serve in the general assembly!  The people of Iowa are looking closely at the legislative session to see how their RIGHTS to Property and Liberties will be preserved.  We are calling on you to sponsor and/or co-sponsor bills that will fortify their Private Property Rights against any abuse by private companies wishing to use eminent domain to further their plans to build hazardous liquid CO2 pipelines.

Many of us have taken the oath to support and defend U.S. Constitution, whether it was for a Political Office, Court Justice, Military Commission/Enlisted Men, etc. That oath, to many of us, is a lifelong commitment to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Let’s look at the oath for Iowa: “I do solemnly swear, or affirm, (as the case may be,) that I will support the Constitution of the United States, and the constitution of the State of Iowa, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of senator, (or representative, as the case may be,) according to the best of my ability.”

We, the people of Iowa, respectfully beseech each of you to evaluate our request, step up, and challenge leadership. If leadership is on the wrong side of this issue, but you know in your gut that what they are asking is a subversion of our Constitutional Rights, it is time to band together and make your voices heard! My own experiences have taught me that not all orders are LAWFUL! You take an oath, not to leadership, but to the people of Iowa to support the U.S. Constitution and the state constitution. Your allegiance must be to both constitutions, federal and state, as written by “We the People.” We ask you to STAND in solidarity and protect the rights of “We the People” against all eminent domain abuse and to withdraw the authority granted to the IUB to make the determination of where/when to grant eminent domain for any project that is not for public use.

We ask each legislator to faithfully discharge their duties and preserve our unalienable rights against any and all infringements and encroachments. Together, we must refuse to follow unlawful orders, dictates or coercion from leadership. We must also NOT redefine the phrase ‘for public use’ as written in our Fifth Amendment of our Constitution to either phrase “for public good, for public interest or for public interest.”

“We the People” are ready to fight tooth and nail to maintain/preserve our rights as afforded by our founding parchments and re-enforced by our state motto: Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain. As you all gavel in tomorrow, please start dialogues across party lines and discuss lawful orders, unlawful orders, preserving property rights and the use of eminent domain as dictated by the state and U.S. Constitution.

The citizens of Iowa are coming to the Iowa State Capitol rotunda on Jan10th for two rallies.  We hope to meet with many of you there.

With Regards,

Robert A. Nazario
Hardin Co. Iowa
