During the preliminary criminal hearing last week in San Francisco Superior Court, the testimony of StemExpress CEO, known as “Doe 12,” indicates that children are victims of illegal partial-birth abortions and then violently have their organs cut out of them for sale.
Liberty Counsel is defending Sandra Merritt against 15 felony charges brought against her by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra for her undercover journalism work which exposed Planned Parenthood’s trade in baby body parts. Merritt and Merritt’s co-defendant, David Daleiden, the founder of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), are the first undercover journalists to be criminally prosecuted in the history of the state.
After CMP released the StemExpress videos in 2015, StemExpress publicly denied their authenticity to the public and to Congress. But under oath on the witness stand during the hearing, “Doe 12” testified that the documents shown in CMP videos are authentic StemExpress documents.
Before founding StemExpress, “Doe 12” was a tissue procurement technician for Advanced Bioscience Resources, responsible for collecting and harvesting baby body parts from Planned Parenthood. In her sworn testimony, “Doe 12” admitted that when a fetal brain is able to be harvested, it is because the baby’s head may still be attached to the body after being pulled out of the womb. When confronted with her statements on undercover video about shipping “intact cases,” she also did not deny that StemExpress harvests and transfers unborn children from completely intact abortions.
When “Doe 12” was questioned about StemExpress’ connection with studies that require a beating heart, she hesitated. When the judge demanded an answer, she said reluctantly, “Yes, we have provided heart tissue to Stanford [University].”
The two-week hearing resumes today and continues through Friday, September 13.
