Most support federal TikTok ban due to Chinese concerns

A Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey shows 68 percent of likely voters support efforts by some members of Congress for federal legislation banning TikTok from the United States. This includes 43 percent who said they strongly support the effort.

Just 24 percent are opposed to banning TikTok, including 12 percent who are strongly opposed.

Senator Marco Rubio and Rep. Mike Gallagher called for banning TikTok a month ago. Both expressed concerns over TikTok’s Chinese ownership.

Eighty-three percent of Republicans 68 percent of unaffiliated voters and 59 percent of Democrats are concerned TikTok is owned by a Chinese company.

Eighty-three percent of Republicans also support a federal ban of TikTok from the United States. Sixty-four percent of unaffiliated voters and 58 percent of Democrats agree.
