The Nebraska Republican Party issued a statement of support regarding the nomination of Congressman Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House. The Nebraska GOP “enthusiastically encouraged” its representatives to support Jordan for Speaker, but Congressman Don Bacon has refused thus far.

The Nebraska GOP said the Republican Party has been led in the House by individuals with “failing conservative scores” for “too long.”

The group noted Kevin McCarthy had a Liberty Score of just 54 percent and Rep. Steve Scalise had a score of 58 percent. Paul Ryan had a score of 36 percent.

“Jim Jordan possesses a 94 percent Liberty Score based on his votes and leadership on core platform issues,” the release said. “This is a welcome change and will lead to leadership of constitutional, conservative and Republican wins. In the nearterm, we will have protection from compromising to a radicalized agenda of the far left in power.”

Republicans, Americans and Nebraskans are tired of “irresponsible budgets, core Republican issues like ObamaCare failing, not upholding the Treaty provision of the Constitution and endless wars without congressional votes.”

“We need a man like Congressman Jordan who will not cave to the endless corporate welfare and social welfare demands. We need a leader like Congressman Jordan who understands constitutional responsibility and individual rights. We need a winner to win.”
