House File 326 was proposed by the Natural Resources committee. It’s an act relating to damages assessed for engaging in prohibited actions involving eagles.
Current law requires a person convicted of unlawfully selling, taking, catching, killing, injuring, destroying or having in their possession an eagle to reimburse the state in the amount of $50, in addition to other penalties. This bill requires a person convicted of such a violation involving an eagle to reimburse the state for assessed damages in the amount of $2,500, in addition to other penalties.
