South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who has been floated as a potential running mate for President Donald J. Trump in 2024, was direct in her answer earlier this year (Aug. 26) when asked whether she thought former Vice President Mike Pence did the “right thing” on Jan. 6 when he certified the 2020 election results.

“I believe he did. I do,” Noem said. “And I think that the fact, um, that he still feels the need to be so crabby about it is sad. You know, he obviously is feeling the criticism and the attacks, but if you’re a patriot and you love this country, you be satisfied in the fact that you know you did the right thing.”

Noem said it was “interesting” to watch Pence try to get every candidate to say he was right on the debate stage.

“Move on. Do something big. Have a vision. Tell us why we should vote for you,” Noem added when discussing Pence’s performance at a previous GOP debate for the 2024 nomination.
