Florida Congressman Carlos Gimenez is sticking to his man — in this case former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. On Friday, Gimenez said he is more solidly behind McCarthy now than ever.

He has proudly proclaimed his McCarthy-only stance all week.

So, what kind of Republican is unwilling to consider anyone else for Speaker unless McCarthy explicitly tells him to? Let’s look at Gimenez’s record in D.C.

Gimenez assumed office on Jan. 3, 2021. He was previously city manager of Miami, a member of the Miami-Dade County Commission and mayor of Miami-Dade County. In 2016, Gimenez endorsed Hillary Clinton for President. However, he ran as a pro-Trump Republican in 2020, winning the seat with 53 percent of the vote.

Gimenez was one of 10 House Republicans who voted with all voting Democrats to remove Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committee assignments.

His Liberty Score is just 54 percent — a failing grade, from Conservative Review.

He was docked for the following votes:

March 24, 2023: A bill to end federal control of local schools — Gimenez voted against
Dec. 8, 2022: Respect For Marriage Act, a bill forcing states to redefine marriage and threaten religious liberty — Gimenez voted in support
July 19, 2022: A bill to codify same-sex marriage and ban states from supporting traditional marriage — Gimenez voted in support
July 14, 2022: A bill to extend chain migration to adult dependents of employment visa holders — Gimeneze voted in support
May 10, 2022: A bill to fund the war in Ukraine through the end of Biden’s first term with a $40 billion aid package — Gimenez voted in support
March 9, 2022: A $1.5 trillion omnibus funding bill that funded Biden’s vaccine mandate — Gimenez voted in support
March 9, 2022: Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and funding the Biden administration’s radical agenda — Gimenez voted in support
Sept. 30, 2021: A bill funding Biden’s progressive agenda and vaccine mandates through Dec. 3 — Gimenez voted in support
Sept. 23, 2021: A bill requiring girls to register for the draft — Gimenez voted in support
June 17, 2021: A bill to repeal authorization for use of military force against Iraq — Gimenez voted against
March 18, 2021: A bill to codify and expand DACA amnesty for illegal aliens — Gimenez voted in support
March 11, 2021: A bill requiring new universal background checks and effectively outlaw private gun transfers — Gimenez voted in support

His CPAC score is similar, at just 60.26 percent.

That is the voting record of McCarthy’s biggest congressional ally. Gimenez represents Florida’s 28th Congressional District.
