Republican presidential candidate Perry Johnson announced on Friday he has qualified for the upcoming GOP debate. Johnson has polled at or above 1 percent in polls nationally as well as in early states. He’s also logged more than 60,000 donors.
“There has been a flood of polling in the last 72 hours that meet the RNC’s requirements and qualify me for the debate stage,” Johnson said. “Therefore I will be at the debate in Milwaukee and look forward to sharing my Two Cents Plan to Save America, which will balance the budget and secure the border.”
Johnson encouraged President Donald J. Trump to also attend the debate so Americans can measure the plans and records of all “major candidates.”
Johnson’s campaign said it has built a “retail politics-style campaign” from the ground up. He has attended and hosted more than 100 events in early states while building what it considers a strong get-out-the-vote operation.
